Overcoming hurdles and the drama of life while dealing with chronic autoimmune disease

I never imagined my wellness would consume so much of my day. It works, it’s exciting and liberating to see positive results even though medical science has given up on me.  Healing and managing a chronic disease demands a change in lifestyle. Patients across the world are obsessed with wanting a solution in the form … Read more

Thoughts, Meditation and Healing

If we don’t go within we go without! That’s my go to mantra when I feel overwhelmed with my diagnosis or the world around me.  Going within is all about re-writing the story in our head.  It’s about paying close attention to the story we tell ourselves from our limited perception on life.  It’s a … Read more

Creating an ethos of wellness

Wellness is a verb disguised as a noun. It involves action.  It demands change. Living with a chronic illness can make you feel very alone. How you take care of your body physically is going to play a huge role on how your body performs mentally and emotionally.  What you are eating, how you’re sleeping, how … Read more

Putting ourselves first is the main priority. We suffer the crippling effect of disease when we disrespect the triggers

How many of us know that junk food is bad for our body and that nutritious food and regular exercise nourishes the body and mind and yet we fail to comply and blame it on our circumstances.  Just when I thought I had a complete handle on my diagnosis with multiple autoimmune syndrome including Secondary … Read more

16 Days of Activism 2019 in South Africa – Harnessing the joy in appreciating and loving the women and children in our lives.

Today marks the beginning of a much need campaign in our country  – to stop the violence against women and children.   While our government means well with its intentions, I believe it is only propagating more violence. The slogans: “FIGHT to eradicate violence against women and children” only resonates with more violence. We have to stop the violence, period.  If there is anything I have learnt on my profound healing journey, it’s the power of the mind to attract more of what it focuses on.

I believe we have to shift our consciousness to one of peace.  Let’s surround ourselves with an energy of love and peace as we help those in our community that are violently abusing their loved ones.  Violence in the home sets the foundation for a violent and abusive society.  Young girls and boys that are exposed to violence in the home grow up believing that violence is a “normal” part of being human.  This cannot be furthest from the truth.  The divine energy within every one of us is in harmony with nature when we feel loved and protected.  The role of the father in the house is protection.  I believe that the greatest gift a father can give his child is to love his or her mother.

Our greatest enemy is our ego.  When our ego is challenged we became angry and often this results in violence.  Ego stands for Edging God Out.  Becoming violent  is wrong in itself, however when we become violent with our words and actions towards the people we profess to love the most in the world, we darken our spirit on a deep level.  The people closest to us are a gift from our creator.  We say thank you for this gift by showing love and appreciation.  Our family are the people that guide us and nurture us on the journey of life.   Our job is to simply love them all the time in thought word and deed as we enjoy the gift of having them in our lives.

Is morality founded on the bedrock of objective reality or on the shifting sands of personal opinion?  The principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour seems to take on a new meaning behind closed doors.  Hurting those that we love with no concern about the consequences is something only psychopaths do, yet it is happening too often in our society. We have to actively discourage abusive behaviour.

Now here is something I invite you to consider: how much of abuse do we inflict on ourselves daily with our negative thinking about ourselves.  I believe this too is an act of violence.  We have to become actively conscious of the thoughts and words in our head.  Are we building our confidence and self-esteem or are we tearing down our confidence and lowering our self-worth with our negative thinking?  Change starts with us.  We have to become kinder to ourselves. We have to consciously use only positive enhancing words when we think or speak about ourselves.  When we love and respect ourselves with absolute passion, we give other people permission to love and respect us too.  We are here for a reason.  The whole world needs our unique and beautiful light.  Let’s not cover up this divine light by thinking less of ourselves.  You were born to shine.  As we step into the sixteen days of activism today, may we actively discourage abusive behaviour in our own mind first and fill our mind with hope, gratitude and love.

An invitation to Reverse Chronic Disease Symptoms from the Inside

Leaving the doctors rooms having heard the words, ‘No Cure’, our innate healing mechanism inside of us shuts down.  Today science is discovering that every cell in our body is eavesdropping on the conversations in our mind.  Our negative thoughts are impacting heavily on our physical state.  We stop trying when we hear the words … Read more

Stress and Meditation

The curious paradox is that when we are stressed, even the thought of meditating can be stressful. We are in such a hurry to get rid of the things that we believe are causing our stress that taking time out to meditate is the last thing we can imagine doing. We ask, ‘How could I … Read more

The Woman I Am

mala-naidoo

The doctor’s words gutted me:  ‘Mrs Naidoo, there are so many lesions in your brain and spine and your symptoms are relentless.  It is highly unlikely that you will walk again!’ Four years ago, I was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune syndrome including Multiple Sclerosis. It is through Divine grace that my journey to ‘hell’ and … Read more
